The Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl partner supports the growth of E-mobility specialists GreenWay.
Janom, a key and longstanding partner of Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl, has announced that it’s part of a new €85 million investment into the expansion of the E-mobility network, GreenWay.
A keen supporter of our #ItStartsWithUs sustainability campaign, GreenWay and janom have joined a conglomerate of organisations that have built the new capital, which will be used to deploy more chargers, expand the network and strengthen the technical and IT competencies of the company to further enhance user experience.
GreenWay, whose logo appeared on our team’s jersey as far back as 2015, is an e-Mobility Service Provider directly serving drivers of electric vehicles providing membership and recharging services on its own network of charging stations, as well as access to 10 000 charging points throughout the EU as part of their multinational roaming agreements. The new investment will be used to deploy more charging stations, expand the network and strengthen the technical and IT competencies of the company to further enhance user experience, following the steady rise in the uptake of electric vehicles, with estimates suggesting that 1 in 5 new cars sold in 2022 was an electric vehicle.
No stranger to alternative transport methods, Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl’s #ItStartsWith has led us to become the world’s first fully certified carbon neutral professional cycling team and we are always looking into new ways to use more efficient and environment friendly transportation, such as our use of a BMW i8 Hybrid during the Tour of Belgium in 2019.
Speaking of the GreenWay announcement, Jan Miskovsky, CEO of janom a.s., said: “We’ve been with GreenWay since the very beginning, when they were a new start-up, and are proud to continue with them as they grow. The greatest satisfaction comes from the fact that we supported GW continuously through the challenging early times of electromobility, till today. The green revolution is at the center of our investment strategy and GW is the key investment in our portfolio delivering on our sustainability mission. Moreover, also thanks to GW, we have been able to develop and control a full, green energy-based value chain.”
Quick to congratulate janom on their investment was Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl CEO Patrick Lefevere: “The news of janom’s expanded work with GreenWay is an exciting one and we congratulate them on the growth of their networks. janom has long taken an interest in building a more sustainable future and from the very start they were keen to support our #ItStartsWithUs campaign. I look forward to the point very soon when all of our journey can be made using vehicles that do not use fossil fuels and are powered by the GreenWay network.”
